Meet poor, sweet, abandoned Einstein. 😥

Einstein was found in a ditch yesterday in absolutely deplorable condition. He’s definitely a senior, appears to be blind, has minimal hearing, (both just from old age as far as we can tell) rotten teeth, and skin seborrhea and irritations from his coat being so matted. His ears were completely plugged up with fur and wax and other detritus. He was a wretched, awful mess!

My daughter Paige and I worked together to shave him down completely, He was so matted that the fur was pulling on his skin really hard, limiting his movement! We gave him a medicated soak, bathed him, cleaned out his ears, clipped his nails (they were so long he couldn’t walk properly) oiled his skin and treated the seborrhea. He got all his shots and an IV of fluids because he was so dehydrated.

Now he’s home with me and will stay here while continue the medicated baths and other medical treatments. He will live in the lap of luxury, be coddled and pampered and loved on and showered with attention till he’s ready to go to a senior dog rescue in a few days. ❤️

TRIGGER WARNING: I’m posting before pics but be aware they’re graphic. 😖😥 If you’d prefer, skip down to the comments where I’ll post some after pics, and I’ll continue to post till he leaves.

:cry::cry:...Ronni.. I've seen so many abandoned dogs in a similar state where they're abandoned in the mountains of Spain, and my DD rescued them , and brought them back to health before finding them homes... The world needs animal angels like you , your daughter, and My own daughter..

@Ronni you did a good thing. Great rescue and it appears you have a good dog now!

When I was a teen my mother spotted a big dog stuck to some fresh asphalt in southern Utah. It was 100+ and we could hardly believe the dog was still alive. We had to cut it's hair to free it, took it home and we had a great, and loyal dog. Found him near Millard, Utah in Filmore County. Had to name him Millard Filmore...

Ronni: Thank you for rescuing Einstein. Your story made me cry at the horror Einstein went through. Glad he is in a safe and loving situation now.
When I went to Animal control to get him, you can bet I cried!! I’d seen a couple photos and I teared up at those but seeing that poor baby in person just broke me. 😥 I had to take a few minutes sitting in the car before I was willing to get driving again.

Bless your heart Ronni ❣️ And bless him, poor little thing. You did good! I would think it would be hard to let him go, though. I think Einstein is a cool name for a dog BTW.
@OneEyedDiva thanks. 👍 Some are harder to let go than others, not gonna lie. But it’s a really good feeling to know I’ve made a profound difference in some poor critter’s life, one that in many cases means the difference between life and death.

So it’s selfish really, that willingness to let them go. It just means I’m free to make another difference with another animal who otherwise would not have stood a chance! 😉

@Ronni You are an absolutely wonderful caring person and you literally saved that dog's life. I am thankful that you are in this world, and are such an unselfish person.
