Melbourne Carnage

You and your two granddaughters were very lucky. I read the link you posted and it sounds like the driver is well known to the police. My heart goes out to all the people involved.

It is very alarming, especially because it is so random and meaningless.
It is a miracle that more people weren't killed or injured.
They had so little time to get out of the way by ducking into the open doors of shops.

Oh my gosh, total freakout! So if he was so well known to the police and there was a history of family violence, why exactly was he doing still walking around on the street? So horrible, imagine what it was like to live in that guys neighbourhood. I'm betting everyone was afraid!.

the driver was a young greek man, on bail, with a history of domestic violence. a very sad event. i don't live in melbourne but generally, on any street in australia, i feel safe. i do hope it continues like this.

There are also mental health issues here. Mental health services are also underfunded and hard to access. Most deaths associated with mental illness are suicides and these are largely ignored. It is only when murders occur that any notice is taken of this issue.

I have no idea what made the Melbourne man do what he did. It could have been drugs, or the lack of medications or uncontrolled rage but looking at the film, that last one doesn't seem appropriate. He seemed to be on some sort of high.
