Member of Chicago's Ripper Crew ( upto 20 abduction/murders in 1980s) Is About To Be Released

This mirrors the same system that charges an actor with 16 felony counts then dismises all of them and seals the case so no one can learn why the 16 charges ere dropped and notifies no one!!

A member of the notorious Ripper Crew that is suspected of abducting and killing up to 20 women is about to be released under a law that allows 1/2 time served on his 70 year sentence.

Out of 4 man crew 2 were executed by 1999. A third will probably remain in prison the rest of his life.

What the heck is the point in sentencing someone to a lengthy prison sentence if they'll only serve 1/2 of it. That's a really stupid law, IMHO. Sounds like a sort of bait and switch deal to me.

My guess with all the shootings in Chicago many by teens it was probably a law or provision from over zealous do gooders to help get them get out of prison before social security.

From what I've read they consider this guy the least guilty because supposedly he got involved to help keep his crew member brother out of jail. Active participation in one murder is bad enough but 20???

Well, I've heard of very elderly prisoners being released, because there is a zero chance of them ever repeating their crimes. But this guy isn't even that old. At 58, he could embark on his "career" all over again. I would not
want to see him moving into the house next door!

I don't think you can even begin to compare these two cases. The comparison goes way beyond apples and oranges! Don't get me wrong, I don't like what Jussie Smollet did but perpetrating a hoax to get attention pales in comparison to someone who participated in 20 (or more?) heinous abductions and murders! Just sayin....
