My son will turn 60 in a few days, and my daughter and I organized a celebration last Sunday at a fabulous upscale Chinese restaurant. His oldest friend on earth (since kindergarten) came from NY and so did an old family friend I hadn't seen in 40 years. It was fantastic. I have a ton of pix but having trouble posting more. I flew from LA to Florida to my mom's 102nd birthday. My sis and BIL flew in from NY also. My sis had ordered the special cupcakes to celebrate the occasion.
It was great seeing us all together to celebrate.
I believe that my mom was just waiting to see us together one more time. A few days later, after returning home, my sis called to tell me that mom had passed away.
