Memory Tickles

I like it when out of the blue I remember something I haven't thought about in years. I have an idea that this reflects daily stress reduction. I'm going to practice it. Todays memory tickle was

Peter and The Wolf.

I think if we deal a whole lot with that which is remembered, we don't have enough of what's new in the present to occupy our minds.

I enjoy it when this happens to me. An unexpected smile is always a gift. That, in itself, often reduces my stress levels.

Yikes! When I first read your post I realized that I couldn't remember the music.

Drove me crazy so I had to look it up on the net. As soon as I heard the first two notes, it all came back to me. There was just some sort of blockage in my memory stream.

I didn't get a tickle at all from "Peter and the Wolf." - Googled, it came up with music, movie, book, ballet - What exactly tickled your brain?

The word tickle has many meanings. Using it here for light distant memories arriving unexpectedly. Pleasant memories.

That I understood - I'm just wondering if it was the music that popped into YOUR head or the movie or the book or the ballet. I get those kind of tickles fairly often - and am often surprised by the silly things that were deeply buried - and I'm left wondering just why they popped back up from the depths of my brain.

Of course, my old brain can't even think of one right now!

I love Peter and The Wolf! It's one of my favorite fairy tales. 😊

Repost of an old tickle: For unknown reasons, the thought sprang into my head that Ronald McDonald reminded me of Bozo the Clown. Low and behold, another member explained that there was a real connection between the two of them!
Sadly, I'd have to search for that long-ago thread to remember what that connection was! /-;
