Message from Frank

Hello, this is Frank's wife Michelle. He asked me to tell his friends here that he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance tonight because he lost the feelings in his legs. He is at one of the best hospitals in the state, and I know he is in very good hands but I am still so worried about him.

When I came home this evening I noticed he wasn't walking right. He said he was fine so I thought he was just having worse pain than usual. He went into the hallway and I heard him yell, then I heard a loud thud and I knew he fell. When I ran to the hall the pain was so bad his whole body was shaking. He told me he could not feel his legs and he said his feet felt like they were on fire. This has happened before but the pain and burning didn't get this bad, and he can usually walk just fine again after 20 minutes or so. But this went on for what felt like hours. I could not lift him, and even if I could get him up I don't think I would be able to help him walk to the car, not to mention the terrible pain he was suffering, so I called for an ambulance.

Frank was still not able to walk when we got to the hospital. He moved his right leg a little bit but he couldn't do it again when they told him to move it again. They gave him morphine twice. The pain finally lifted after the second dose, and he went to sleep.

Frank insisted I not stay at the hospital all night. I will go back in the morning and stay as long as I can. They will take images in the morning and they said his back specialist will be in early to see him. My greatest hope is that he will get up and walk to the bathroom as soon as he wakes up. and they will let him come home.

Michelle

I will keep you both in my prayers!

Never hesitate to call an ambulance. He might be okay when they get there but they can check him and help you get him off the floor into the bed. At least here in Texas there is never a charge unless they have to transport him. Can't tell you how many times I had to call just to help me get someone up.

Keep us updated.

Michelle, thank you so much for posting... this is incredibly concerning for you to watch Frank suffer like this, and terrifying as well as agonising for Frank.

Please pass on all of our best wishes for Frank,...and wish him a speedy recovery... he's one of our good guys here, and we'd hate to hear about him suffering..

Take care Michelle .. keep us updated if you can...
