He's probably a supervisor getting overtime. A few years ago there was a big overtime scandal with a police department north of Miami where they were abusing informants to make a case to justify an investigation to get overtime. I'm still wondering about a cop with a couple of Ferrais. I don't care how used or old they were. I also read his wife works for the school district in the Miami area. So two government employees have at least 3 high end luxury or sports cars.

It does make ya wonder. It does.
 
They had a real problem in Miami some years ago with off-duty police officers moonlighting as security for the rich oil sheikhs who live there part-time. The police department found out that some of the officers were working 40-hours a week or more as security, then would come to work as police officers and were sleeping on the job.

Naturally, these guys weren't turning down the high pay from the sheikhs. The department finally had to outlaw the moonlighting.
 
If they outlawed moonlighting here, half the cops would starve or be on food stamps. They don't get paid a not -- IMHO, not enough for all the stuff they have to face.
