Microsoft update annoying problems

I deliberately restarted my PC to allow updates to happen, over 1 hour ago, it has now been stuck in "Cleaning up 100% complete Don't turn off your computer ", for 30 minutes!
What to do now, should switch off, or should I wait?

I always wait when it says "don't turn off your computer" .. go read for awhile!

I had this happen once. I rebooted and the update was properly installed. Your mileage may vary.

I left it alone, after another hour and a half, I went out
to get a newspaper, when I got back, another hour later,
everything was working!!!!

I sort of suspect a fault in my machine, for a couple of
days now, it seems to be doing a lot of buffering of the
videos, this is usually a very fast machine and I clear the
cache every evening, before I shut down, unless of course
the update has solved the slow-down, I will see and let
you know.

I experience video buffering on occasion. It's most often cured by a reboot of the router.

It broke so may times that I ditched Windows and switched to Linux.
