Serbia, is part of what was Jugoslavia, before the war that
split the country apart, but below is a short video showing
a freak storm yesterday, I always wonder why these Winter
storms strike in Summer, we see a lot in Arabia, a place that
is very hot in the Summer.

Make sure that your subtitles are on, unless of course you
can understand the language.

This was a hail storm which only happens in summer. They are different from ice pellets that occur only in winter.

Hail forms when raindrops are carried in the updrafts of a thunderstorm into the extremely cold area of the atmosphere & freeze. They will fall when the updraft can't support their weight when they get too large or the updraft weakens.

Sometimes when hail falls it does little to no damage & then other times it can cause massive amounts. In the US, hail can come down during severe storms or some times it may even precede a tornado.
