Most Comfortable Temperature

I live in Northern Mexico and most apts here do not have furnaces. The outside temp is aprox 56 F and inside my apt it is 70.2. However, i am quite cold.
I must be fully clothed with a T-shirt, woolen long sleeve shirt, Levis, socks, slippers and a med heavy coat. STILL, i need to wrap up in a blanket and lay down on the sofa while watching TV/movies . dressed and covered like that, I'm comfortable. At least the refrigerator puts out SOME heat.

This will continue until at least April.

Last night I was freezing with the temperature on 70f. I couldn't stand it. I felt chilled to the bone! After awhile of that I turned the heat up to 72 first and I was still freezing. So I turned it up again to 74.

I was alright for awhile and then my temperature gauge said it was 76 in here and it felt too hot. I was trying to sleep but couldn't because I felt too 🔥 hot. So then I put the fan on in the bedroom.

It took me the longest time to cool down and fall asleep. I put the doggie in my bed and gave her a back massage. I fell asleep with her in the bed as I sometimes do.

So now it's running between 71 and 73 in here and I have my nightgown and robe and thick socks on and I'm comfortable. It's about 44f outside.

The difference is that last night it was 23 f outside and very windy and damp. I often get chilled with outside conditions like that.

One was too cold.. one was too hot.. and now it's juuuust right!! :) LOL

Daytime, I'd like it at 74F. DH would be happy at about 70F. At night I think the furnace is set to about 69F, I have the sheet and blanket, DH sleeps with nothing, if he gets chilly he wraps up in the sheet.

I'm sorry but what does DH stand for?

The house is kept at 70 in the daytime and 64 for bedtime. My feet aren’t cold in the daytime. As soon as I start to relax in the evening, my feet are freezing. I heat up a microwave bag and sit around with that. Often I put it behind my back because I find it relaxing and it warms me up all over.

I feel the cold indoors when it's 16 deg C... ( 60 deg F).. and that's my cut off point to put the heating on.. However due to the Massive increase in our Energy prices, I can't afford to put the heating on, unless it's absolutely freezing.. so instead I just put layers on..

Right now in my house it's 17 deg C.. ( 62.6 F ).. and I'm not cold... I just have a long sleeve T-Shirt on.. and jeans... with some leggings on underneath.

As it gets colder this evening ( it's now 4.30pm and dark).. I'll add a fleece jacket or a sweater .. and I'll be fine..

I really need to save the heating for when we get zero temps..

Here is Mississippi it is supposed to get maybe up to 60. It has been in low 40's for days now and we are freezing. We do not like cold weather at all. Our heat is gas and it is set on about 77 now and I have on socks, shoes, velour pants and a long sleeve shirt and I am still feeling a chill.

At night if it is real cold I place a warm blanket on bottom sheet to lay on and cover up with a top sheet and a comforter and cut heat back to 70. is it summer yet LOL! We could not live in cold climate that is for sure.

I'm built backwards I guess. As long as I'm up and about, I'm fine. In fact, if the daytime temp is above about 72°F (22°C) I feel too hot.

As soon as I lie down, I need to be warm. If the room isn't warm enough, no problem. I just pile on the blankets, and cover my neck and head if necessary.

But none of this "turn down the heat at night" business for me.

Some years ago in February a group of us went to the Copper Canyon in Mexico. When we woke up in the morning there was 6" of snow on the ground. A few days later we were in Mazatlan wearing shorts and t-shirts.

What about getting a space heater and just heating your bedroom? I can’t imagine living in a house that cold.

I have "down" blankets/duvet - expensive but they last a lifetime (30+ years.) The down regulates the heat - not too hot in summer; warm in winter.
