My name didn't make the list and neither did my husband, son, or daughter. this thread made me laugh and brought back many memories. When my son was born my husband wanted him named after him so I said ok. Then I had a daughter and I said to my husband maybe we should name her after me.He laughed and said "That would be stupid ! Then we would have John, John,Barbara, Barbara" so now we have John the 1st 2nd, and 3rd. My sister Charlotte made the list.
 
Just for fun, I looked up the most popular names in 1945, the year my wife and I were born. Her name Patricia was 4th and my name was 19th. I did not see any of the above current names on the list, except that James was first (also for one of my nephews, age 61) and William was fourth. I guess some names (but not very many) are timeless!

Looked up "my birth year"...0ften wondered how/why my name?
Right there in the top 10.

Yeah, I dunno why we're less imaginative with boy's names. (puff, puff, pass) Or maybe it's more like we're less risky with boy's names (puff, puff, pass), you know, because (cough, cough, pass) because we figure they'll enter the work-force or whatever.

Thanks Tish. Seems to be a lot of commonality. I'm surprised that Jack did not make the top 10 US list: I think it was fairly popular a few years back.
