Mother scratched her daughter's back for years with a scalpel

A German mother (59) scratched her daughter for several years with a scalpel into the back. The torture started as the girl was 13 years old.
"I educate creatively, not through punishment", the mother said in her closing statement in court.

But the judges don't believe her. For them it's only "the tip of the iceberg". The sentence: three and a half years in prison.
The mother claims to be innocent and appeals.

There are a lot of children suffering at the hands of crazy parents. Many years ago the county court placed one of my childhood friends with his grandmother because he was regularly beaten by his parents for being left handed. Our teacher noticed bruising and notified authorities.

it's true , just yesterday I read of a couple in Texas who made their adopted daughter.. (who also happened to be the mothers' neice)..age just 8 years old, jump on the trampoline in 100 deg heat non stop , without water , to even quench her thirst , until she died of exhaustion and dehydration...

the mother was given 3 life terms, the father 18 years..

These are the faces of evil

Girl, eight, killed by her parents in horrific trampoline 'punishment'

Then in today's news...

Japanese police have arrested several men over the alleged sexual assault of their underaged daughters and sharing videos of their abuse online, according to reports.

Police have so far refused to confirm the arrests.

The Kyodo News agency, NHK television and other outlets say police in the Aichi prefecture, a region in central Japan, took several men aged in their 30s, 40s and 50s into custody.

They are accused of repeatedly raping their daughters or stepdaughters, aged six to 14, filming the scenes of the assaults and sharing the videos on social media.

They are also accused of child prostitution and child pornography, the reports said.

Messages and footage of their attacks were allegedly exchanged in a group chat.

The group was uncovered after one of the men was arrested in November on suspicion of raping a child.

Police investigated the data on his mobile phone, which led to the arrest of the other men, according to reports.

I was an abused child... badly abused.. it's actually a wonder to this day that I survived it... it was just so bad...

the laws in the UK now forbid people to hit their children... or at the very least there's a childline where kids can call for help, or report the parents...

Video not available in your country
This is often the other way round also the case, that I can't watch videos from the U.S. But I think the pics in the article of her back should demonstrate the martyrdom of the girl/young woman. And besides the visible scars there are a lot of scars on her soul.

Not my idea of a good back scratcher. Aside from how dangerous a slip might be. But our skin, the largest organ in the human body, has millions of pathogens crawling all over it to protect us from horrible diseases. Scraping away all that leaves the skin exposed to heaven knows what is lurking in our air or even on the people just passing by. Lean your back against something, and that girl had no protection at all.

Nope, not a good idea at all. If, however, her mother was using this as a form of torture, why did no one see blood running down the child's back and legs? Sounds like a typical old Nazi trick.

Too many wackos abound in our society,
and the children are the main sufferers. Unconscionable and reprehensible behaviors must be addressed and handled accordingly these days.

I could never figure out why it was the children who had to put up with brutality. Still boggles the mind.

No. There is nothing in the article nor in the video which indicates it. But as this happened for several years I think that the victim went to the police not as a child but as the young woman she is now.
I can’t translate the post, so I wondered how long after the act had stopped did the young lady wait to report the crime?

Just as a comparison, in Pennsylvania this would most likely be a felony. If a person waits to report a crime that’s a felony and since it would be considered a post facto case, she would have 5 years to report it to LE. In my opinion, I would also think that since this case would definitely be a filial case (a child in the home with the parent handing out a punishment considered to be an assault) the parent would be subjective to many years in prison.

I have been involved in a few of these cases.

Are there any provisions in PA to toll the SOL like these in Ohio. I don't think those apply to a Minor Misdemeanor??

(F) The period of limitation shall not run during any time when the corpus delicti remains undiscovered.

(G) The period of limitation shall not run during any time when the accused purposely avoids prosecution. Proof that the accused departed this state or concealed the accused's identity or whereabouts is prima-facie evidence of the accused's purpose to avoid prosecution.

(H) The period of limitation shall not run during any time a prosecution against the accused based on the same conduct is pending in this state, even though the indictment, information, or process that commenced the prosecution is quashed or the proceedings on the indictment, information, or process are set aside or reversed on appeal.

She has not yet been sentenced.

It does leave one puzzling about " humans being created in the image of God?" heh - unless you also accept the satan story too?

In PA, we do not use the term “Minor Misdemeanor”. We do use a term “Summary Offense, which are the lowest form of a Misdemeanor. All misdemeanors are classified as being 3rd degree, 2nd degree or 1st degree. All misdemeanors carry a penalty and as you would expect, a First Degree Misdemeanor carries the more severe punishment.

The severity of the misdemeanor will decide the SOL and punishment if the person charged is found guilty. The majority of misdemeanors, along with summary offenses are usually not considered or treated the same as a felony. Most people that are charged do not face a grand jury or are they indicted. Instead, they are tried in a District Court and the vast majority of cases are resolved there.

I hope this answered your question.
