I'm moving back to FL the 2nd week of Nov. I had decided to do this several months ago and had been applying for senior income-based housing since April. As some of you know, I recently shared that my nephew had been shot and killed. It is such a blessing that I'm going back because it is where my sister who lost her son is. Also, my son is there, who is close to my sister's age. They grew up really like brother and sister or cousins.
I never thought that I would go back to FL ever. Hurricanes Matthew and Irma scared me almost to death and I left shortly after. I hate the bridges. I hate the palmetto bugs. My son and my sister knew too that I was never coming back. It came as a shock to us when I made the decision to return. I knew that my decision was the right one but little did I know how needed it was going to be.
Because of the tragedy, my sister only has her nephew now, my son. I know she feels more alone than when we lost our mother a few years ago. Now, the three of us will be together to help each other adjust to the loss of my nephew. They are so looking forward to me coming back.
I'll be away for awhile. Looking forward to returning to SF and being active again.
