The people getting on the back of the bus know they are stealing. Over the course of time, the lost revenue will add up to quite a tidy sum of money. We all have a duty to God, our family and our self to do the right things in life. In this case, it's each person needs to pay their own way.

It also appears to me that no one cares. People on the street complain while knowing it does no good. Why not send a letter to the Mayor or better yet hold a demonstration in front of the Mayor's office? If you don't make any noise, no one is going to hear you. They still may not give 2 hoots, but at least you can say "I tried."

Is it safer to use the bus than to take the subway? I haven't heard of anyone being thrown in front of a bus, but maybe it did happen.
