Murder in the morning

Speaking as a long-time Californian, that's a rather offensive statement. I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but we are NOT "northern Mexico" in economy, culture, religions, or attitudes.

Yet....however, if current population trends continue, that could all change in another half century. There have already been a couple of attempts to put a measure on the ballots allowing California to secede from the U.S.

.

Demographics is destiny.

Mexico found that out when Spain and Mexico invited Anglos from the USA to settle the Texas wilderness.
Now Anglo Texans are discovering demographics is a double-edged sword.

Yup....California, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas are all quickly becoming "Northern Mexico"

Lethe200, don't be too sure about that. Come on down to my neck of the woods and you will see an entirely different California. I live in San Diego County, and I can tell you that 1st and 2nd generation Mexicans control almost every aspect of life. When I ride the light-rail trolley, I am very often the ONLY Caucasian. 300 or so Hispanics and me.

The large chain super markets are stocked to the ceiling with Mexican foods. At least 50% of the meat department has items that I can not identify. It took me 2 years of endless hounding to get then to sell steaks that are thicker than a magazine cover. I kid you not. You could almost read a newspaper through their idea of a steak.

Today, at McDonalds, the cashier could not speak a word of English. The employees at Walmart, Target, Costco, 7-11 and every restaurant within 20 miles of me are ALL Hispanic.

So, yes, even though I technically live in California, in actuality I live in Northern Mexico.

Oh, and by the way, the San Ysidro/Tijuana border crossing, the busiest land border crossing in the world, handles 8,000,000 people /year. 99.5 % of them are Hispanic.

This morning I had to go across the Mexican border to see a friend. While walking down the street in Tijuana, I heard voices raised in anger. Just as I looked in that direction, a Mexican man pulled out a pistol and shot the other man in the head. From what I gather, they had been arguing over the price of a muffler job on the killers car.

Must have been a hundred cops there within 5 minutes. The cops didn't want anyone to be within a city block of the crime scene and they herded all of us away. I tried to give the cops a description of the killer but they just kept shoving me away. Yes, literally shoving.

To kill someone over such a minor argument --- bizarre. :eek:nthego:

Did anyone involved have any visible tattoos?
