Music Devices from Days Gone Past

I remember feeling ripped off when I had to buy a needle for the Pioneer turntable I bought. The dam needle cost almost as much as the turntable, but OMG - the sound it produced.

How about you my friends? Tell me about you early experiences with music delivery systems?

My lovely, angelic wife (you'd only have to meet her only once to agree) and I went to a art fair Saturday and one artist was selling the old megaphones that could be used with your phone. The sounds was amazing, but the cost was a bit high. $400 and up - but oh so cool.

I threw away my Sony walkman about a year ago. It no longer played tapes and couldn't get the radio to work right. I also tossed my old Panasonic tape player which had stopped working. I still have the first turntable my son ever owned...a Technic. But don't use it anymore because I've gone digital. I also still have my Technic 5 CD player/tuner and a Sony dual deck tape player. I think my father bought me my first record player when I was a tween or teen.

You might be able to sell your son's old turntable .. they're back in vogue, and I think new one's are fairly costly.

I won't sell it Pinky. It's filling up space nicely in my audio cabinet. Someday, I may be in the mood to play some of the many albums I have. Not all of my music is in my digital collection. I did manage to find every last 45 I have (about 300 of them) on You Tube and put them into playlists.
