I graduated in '64, so I have emotional ties to 60s music. But outside of that, I find that 60s music is a lot cleaner sounding than later decades. In the beginning of the 60s, music was recorded "live", meaning the song was sung and recorded in one take. Later, someone could lay down a track and six months later, somebody else can lay down another track. then some engineer could add multiple other tracks. In the 60s, there wasn't much 160 track multi-layering., nor all the reverb. I'm maybe a little biased, but there's nothing like a 60s song.
