I have a cane in every room.. One by my bed.. one by the side of sofa.. one in the hall. All discreetly placed so they're not clearly visible to visitors ... but I never know when my back is going to seize up and I can't get up from a sitting position..

yes mine are very fancy pretty canes. I don't use them very often except if my back goes out for an extended time, but I don't want to look like an old lady when it does even then..lol.. so mine are all pretty colours

The list grows.....next to my recliner in my bedroom I have an end table and on the table is a basket full of 'necessities'...glasses, hearing aids, remotes, mouse for laptop. lip balm, pen and notepad, phone, floss, moisture lotion, flash light, nail file and on the other side of my recliner I have my mom's walker that I've use in the past if I'm having hip pain and on the walker I keep my laptop when I'm not using it.

The remote. I like the cats close by but that's up to them.

i generally have at least 1 cat nearby if not on me. (We have 4 in all). My male tabby is the most persistent and patient lap cat. he'll get off me if i say i need to refill my coffee or tend the fire, then come back as soon as i've settled again.
