My “other” plans

Remember the famous John Lennon quote from Beautiful Boy? "Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans."

For a long time now I've been working at my life in a certain sequence..get those other plans done so that I can focus on my actual life. It's been a slowly dawning realization that my "other" plans ARE my life! That I've wasted a lot of time not being in the moment with ALL my stuff, all my plans, all my life, because I'm focused on some nebulous future "life" that is going to be able to happen once I get A and B and C accomplished!

Wow. Yes, I'm a slow learner! 😉 But I do eventually learn!

Can anyone relate?

“Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can” - Arthur Ashe

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined.” - Henry David Thoreau

I have learned to enjoy every moment as much as I can. My brother always reminds me of this. He said, "tomorrow is not promised to us so don't steal the joys each moment brings by making future plans that may not come." Wise words said.

When covid19 turned our world upside down, fate clicked reset button for all. Therefore, I will live to the fullest here and now.

I once heard it described as "living in the Someday Isles." As "someday I'll get/have/do ????? and then my life will be happy/complete/fulfilled."

It's good to have dreams and ambitions but in the meantime, enjoy the now.

Can absolutely relate Ronni! Probably lived my whole life thinking something someday is going to be wonderful. My whole life was in preparation for some future reality.
Now,In my aged wisdom, i realize you have to enjoy life all the time. Don't wish away your days waiting for better days ahead.
This wisdom came a little late though, I spect!
