My Beloved BFF Forever

We always know this is inevitable, but dealing with it when the time comes, is so painful. Our Marley is getting there. I dread the day.

We go to the Vet today to see if she has improved. I've been ever vigilant of this mysterious allergy that she's developed and opened
deep skin abrasions on her legs. We've given her everything under the sun to correct this. Some have healed, others, not.

So, Ruthanne, I hope and pray your precious Suzy did not suffer much and is truly resting in peace. She was adorable. 🤗
Thank you. She passed

peacefully in her sleep.

Every night I say goodnight to the four beloved cats I lost. I had always wanted a cat since I was a little girl. When my sister got married and out of the house; when my parents went on a short vacation after the wedding, I snuck Whiskers into our home. My first cat. My parents who were resistant, fell in love. It's been cats ever since.

When I look at Suzy, I see a cat. Sounds crazy. I guess what I mean is I fell in love with Suzy since I first met her here. And your birds, you had birds, (((Ruthanne)))

I don't have the words, but thank you for sharing little Suzy with us. I'm so sorry Ruth, so very sorry for your loss.
Thank you very much for being here.

Alfred Lord Tennyson's quote: " 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." often gets misquoted, vilified even. What Tennyson means is that if we are to avoid the suffering of bereavement we must never experience love.

Looking at Suzy's photos, then reading Ruthanne's moving eulogy, and having experienced both the joy of the unconditional love that pets bring and suffering the numbing pain of bereavement when we have to say farewell. Tennyson is right.

Ruthanne, many of us will know your pain, share your tears, even. But for all that, the joy of that little bundle of mischief is what makes us do it all again. Treasure Suzy's memory, enjoy her beautiful photos, those reminisces are priceless. My heart goes out to you.
Thank you.

I ran into a woman I knew at the vets, she was a cashier at my grocery. She was putting her dog, who looked just like Suzy, in the vet's crate and turning to leave. She was crying. I asked if her dog was very sick and she said "No, I'm just leaving her to get her nails cut. [pause] You don't understand, she's my life." Awww. That's what our Suzy's mean to us and how much we love them.
Yes definitely, thank you.
