My Burger King experience

On the other hand, burger prices have dramatically increased. You're right that fast food prices haven't increased dramatically overall depending on what you call fast good, but fast food burgers (and all burger prices) have spiked.

The price of a burger, fries and soda increased 24% on average from 2022 to 2024.

By now, you're likely very aware that inflation has made things very, very expensive. Including groceries and going out to restaurants. But, just in case you needed further proof, MoneyGeek has a new report showing just how expensive a simple meal of burgers, fries, and soda has become.

In July, the website revealed the results of its research looking at the pricing of 189 major and local chains in 50 of the largest cities in America. The team found that between 2022 and 2024, prices rose by 24%, on average. However, there are certain cities that have faired worse than others.

A New Report Reveals Which City Has the Most Expensive Burger and Fries in America — and It's Not New York

I don't frequent fast food places, however once every blue moon I succumb to some subliminal implant(from a TV commercial) and the thought of a fast food visit comes to fruition. So I swing by Burger King on the way home from the gym and pick up lunch for myself and DW.

Order:
1 Whopper w/cheese + small fries(hers)
1 Whopper, no cheese(mine)
Total: $22.70
Let me repeat that: Twenty-Two Dollars(USD) and Seventy Cents.

Seriously, this visit was THE LAST TIME I will be visiting a fast food place!
Yes. The fast food industry is running itself out of business. I sometimes use them and I have noticed that most of their customers are foreign tourists who don't know where else to eat.

My wife saves coupons for fast food restaurants. They're not so pricey with a coupon.
I don't know about the US but over here Burger King and KFC have a "feed back" system that allows for approx 50% discount on your next meal. Read the back of your receipt, go to their on-line page, fill in the simple form, jot down the registration number you're given, and take it with you next time. When you've got your new meal (for half price) you now have another receipt which you can use in the same way. So, after your first meal you never have to pay full price again.

Things have changed since 1973!

here at our local chippy, cod & chips for one is a whopping £12..00.. and I honestly don't know how people can afford it, but I see the queues every night if I drive past... ..and I've eaten the fish and chips from there and it's not even anything special...
No idea what my local chippy charges these days but it’s £11.61 with an alcoholic drink for Cod and Chips in Wetherspoons around here -significantly cheaper between two and five.
I think that is quite reasonable and is my weekly treat….
My chippy does a cook a Cod fresh when asked..not sure all chippies do that.
Never had any complaints when I did frequent it.

Over here fish & chips will cost you the equivalent of 12 quid but tastes awful. Better to spend your money at KFC or McDo's.

I've never regarded Domino's Pizza as being much better than generic frozen supermarket fare, hopefully Domino's Pizza does a better job of it, in the UK.
I'm no pizza connoisseur, especially these days, but unless they have gone downhill radically in the last decade that's not even remotely true.

The worst I ever had was in Anaheim. Got in very late, very tired from airline shenanigans. Ordered a pizza from room service. Who knew Californians think pizza should have watery sauce and celery on it?

Domino's didn't compare to any of our established sit-down places' (local one or two store operations) but it wasn't anything like frozen.

It is very expensive.
I seldom go but it often is NO longer FAST either ...........most drive thru's here and have assigned parking and someone will bring order to you to keep line moving lol ... probably faster if they walked in and got it to go.

I went into a place and the staff so short handed ......waited a while to be helped as many customers were sticker shocked and were changing orders several times to get a reasonable price. i think it will be ok but am always disappointed after eating.

I paid $1.75 at Checkers for a cheesburger, not the fancy one and it was tasty. I can get a bargain at KFC when ordering online, so not too expensive for nuggets and a small potato and gravy. I guess it all comes down to what you order and how much. The classic chicken sandwich at KFC was only $ 3.00 and some cents with their online special.

I can get a medium pepperoni pizza for S12.00 on special and you would need to add tax and delivery(if using). For the 4 adults here it would be about $100 including tax and delivery but we get 2 meals out of it.
