My daughter broke her ankle....

I feel terrible because she actually broke it over a week ago falling on her front steps. She went to Idaho with us and we did A LOT of walking-through the airports,at the hotel, which was HUGE and we stayed in rooms really far from the restaurant.Took us about 20 minutes to walk back to our rooms.

She was wearing her Uggs on Saturday and her ankle was killing her,but when she changed to her tennies, she said it hardly hurt at all. She kept saying it was just sprained.

After being in a lot of pain during the night last night,we convinced her to call her doc. They told her to come over for an xray and sure enough,it is broken. In lessLinda ankle 2.jpg than an hour she had been xrayed and had this put on....

She is a driving instructor so can`t work til the cast comes off. At least work was getting slow due to the upcoming holidays. Although they may be shutting our county down again due to Covid,so she wouldn`t be working anyway.

Sorry to hear about your daughter...I did that when I was a teen, hurts a lot!!

Are you all able to travel easily in and out of airports , and stay in hotels etc through this pandemic ?

We were able to travel easily but that was last week-not sure if it would be as easy this week. It was actually not very smart of us to even do this, but we hadn`t seen my granddaughter for 5 years so we just HAD to. Her mom (my daughter) hadn`t seen her in as long either,so,ya know....

I DO NOT FLY,so I had to be really talked into this, for many reasons. But I figured it was a good opportunity to see if I still felt the same way and yes,I do. I likely will never fly again.

The airports were like ghost towns-my daughter took pics showing the baggage claim areas totally empty-no people or baggage to be seen. Very few people on the plane going there on Friday,a few more coming home on Sunday. My sister and I could have left on Thursday and driven, and arrived there Thursday night, and then driven home on Monday but my girls were insistent.

So sorry to this happened to your daughter, it is a very painful injury, poor thing. Hope she has a speedy recovery.

So sorry to hear this. It's not bad enough having to cope with the threat of the virus especially during the holidays and now to be laid up with a broken ankle. I can't imagine walking on a broken bone.
I understand you travelling to see your family. I have to make the same decision for Christmas with my daughter. Very hard to decide.

Sorry about your daughter Mrs. R, wishing her a quick and complete recovery.
