My Dog is Sick-Need Prayers

Same with my Marley, except it's her right hip. She's been limping for a couple of weeks now, and the Vet says she has an allergy. Say what? She injured the lower part of her leg out in the bushes, pulling some skin off, and hasn't been right since. I gave her a round of Amoxicillin, and used a gel on the wound. He also gave her some kind of an injection. I've had her on Glucosamine for a few years now, as I believe she does have arthritis. I've also begun giving her doggie aspirin 2x daily. Not much of an improvement and I am worried. I am also thinking of changing vets.
Prayer offered for (((Marley))) too! 🙏 🙏 🙏

@Lewkat, I hope you find another vet that can help. I had to switch from a vet once that I had used for many years because he refused to come out on an emergency farm call late one night.

Prayers for Marley & you. 🙏🙏🙏

@Ruthanne Thinking of you and Suzy. Hoping for the best outcome at the vet.
@Lewkat It might be good to seek for a second opinion regarding Marley. When my aging mini dachshund was not getting better after receiving a treatment from our vet, I took her to another vet recommended to me by a neighbor. It turned out that she had been on the wrong medication! He changed it and we saw improvement right away. I was so relieved!

Ruthanne, remember the many wonderful years you have had with Suzy. Celebrate her life and be grateful. But the day will come when God will call Suzy. It hurst. Dogs are members of our family and letting them go is never easy. Two of my dogs got into a fight that sent me to the hospital ER and Spike to the animal hospital where he had to be put to sleep. As Spike closed his eyes, I burst into tears and hugged him for the last time. I will always love him and hold him dear in my memory. Dogs give us all what they have and ask for nothing. Ruthanne, enjoy every minute you share with Suzy but accept that God will call her one day. You have our prayers.

I'm asking for prayers for my Suzy who is an older dog at about 13 or 14. She's been having these episodes where her breathing is labored and she snorts and gurgles. The episodes last about a minute or two.

The episodes started being more frequent as of today. I'm calling the Vet for a same day appointment early tomorrow. And if she gets much worse there is an emergency clinic open till 1am.

Please say a prayer for Suzy.
Sooo sorry to hear, sending thoughts for a good outcome at the vet

How is she doing today Ruthanne?
She is doing better than previous days but the days not over yet either. Yesterday she had many of those episodes and today one when she was outside.

I tried calling the same day appointment Vet this morning but there was something wrong with their phone line. I tried calling about 5 times and the line would not transfer me. I never got a human. I have an appointment for her this month but if she gets worse I'll go to the emergency vet.

Glad to know she is a little better, but I know what you mean. You can't time events like that, another may occur at any time, or several may.

Bummer that you couldn't get through to talk to someone at that same day vet, frustrating. Hope you won't need to go to emergency with her and she can be treated, possibly medicated and start doing better. Thinking of you, she's lucky to have you caring for her. 💜

Thank you. Your words mean a lot.

@Ruthanne, is Suzy having "Backward sneezes" ?

If so, that;s not too serious. Read about it here:

Reverse Sneezing in Dogs: What Causes It and What to Do | PetMD

Reverse sneezing can occur in any dog breed, but may be more common in brachycephalic dogs such as Boxers, Bulldogs, Pugs, and Shih Tzus.

While reverse sneezing can sound alarming, but it isn’t a painful or harmful condition. Occasional episodes of reverse sneezing are generally considered normal and not a health concern. While not a medical emergency, any instances of reverse sneezing and how frequently it happens should always be discussed with your veterinarian.

I don't know what reverse sneezing is or looks like but she has had more regular sneezing than usual. Thanks for the information ❣️
