The peas are a little late this year. The weather was pretty cold and nasty at the time I usually plant them.
Now we have very hot weather and they don't like that either .
We will eat them tonight with the steak I'm going to burn on the grill for Father's Day. lolpeas.JPG

Oh my gosh, do those ever look delicious, Ruth!

I remember sitting outside on the patio/porch as kids and eating them fresh out of the garden! What a treat that was! So sweet and yummy!

I'm certain they are a traditional kid favourite, at least when I was growing up they were!

i don't like that stringy piece from the pod. it chokes me. but i like the peas!
@MarciKS I don't either so I string them before I put them on the table.
I also got in the habit of skinning my tomatoes. When my kids were small they wouldn't go near a tomato if it had the skin on so I took the skin off by dipping them in boiling water for a second or two.
Now the whole family is spoiled and I always do it.
To be honest I like them better that way myself.

Wow! They look great but you’re a great gardener. Enjoy your dinner. I bet it will be great.

You blanched all your kids tomatoes for them? Those are very lucky kids to have such a considerate mom. That’s so sweet.
Starsong does all kinds of extra things like this for her kids also. You two go that extra mile for your family.

They look mighty delicious Ruth. I wonder if you can eat them grilled or raw. I eat most veggies raw.
@Ruthanne raw is the best way to eat them .The pod is thick, juicy and tender just as good as the peas inside. Nice in Chinese dishes instead of snow peas. I never grilled them. I have enough trouble grilling a hot dog. lol
Although my Father's Day steak turned out very good. Surprise! surprise! maybe I'm getting the hang of it.

raw is nice but I prefer to steam them in the microwave for 2 minutes....
