I could picture children playing in the spacious back yard or on the big, wrap around front porch. That full attic could be anything from children's playroom to an artist's studio. Even a place for @Alligatorob's home theater! This is certainly a place for a young family.
I think his ''Home Theatre'' could have fitted in better in the last house...:ROFLMAO:

This looks like an excellent renovation. However, it looks like the present owner has moved furniture and personal possessions in, and haven't lived there long. The question I would have is Why are they trying to sell it so quickly?? Have they discovered even more problems, perhaps structurally, that would require even more expensive work, and make their current investment of little value?

The house has been "staged" for buyers to see how they may fit their things in. The wife is an interior designer and knows how to rent items to stage a home.

A quick sale means more profit. The owner renovated the house to flip it-or sell it off for profit.

When you go there on Sunday, don’t tell them you were the previous owner if they don’t recognize you. I think all of Stillwater will be there to see the changes.

I can see this becoming the weekend home of some rich city folks. Maybe even a bidding war. It will be interesting.
bit hard for her to not be recognised, she lived in that house most of her life... I think the whole population will know who she is..

Deb, in the photo with the large built-in cabinet, what was there before. I recognized your corner cabinets with the built-in lights.

@debodun You have the right attitude about it. It was theirs to do as they please. It really looks beautiful. I do remember the pictures of the home you had posted previously. You could have never made the house to the way it is now. That really did take professionals. I hope the house will belong to people who will be happy living in it. It's absolutely gorgeous. And I'm glad you sold it.

What an amazing transformation! But, if it were me, I would not go, Deb. It would no longer be my house, and I would feel sad about it, especially if I had fond memories (as you pointed out about the plum tree).

Also, remember, this house was built in 1897, and anyone who buys it also buys an old house no matter how nice it looks on the surface. I know, because it happened to me many years ago, and we inherited a lot of problems that only surfaced after we lived in it for three years. So good luck to whoever is going to buy it.
