My oldest Grandson Justin got his first job. He is 15 and works on the weekends at a little diner as a drink runner.
I never heard of a drink runner before. Maybe they use to call them bus boys.

He delivers the beverages to the tables and refills when needed. I think he may also set tables and do other odd jobs.
He loves it and is saving for a car.

He is a very hard worker and has helped out at our house in the summertime with yardwork that needed to be done.
Justin isn't afraid of hard manual work.
I'm so proud of him. The photo is a candid shot of him working and when he got his very first paycheck.

Good for him! He's building a good work ethic that will benefit him a great deal in later years.

Really great to know there is a teen out there with ambition. You have a right to be very proud of your grandson. While doing what he is doing might not seem exciting, starting young learning about what work to earn a pay check is all about will indeed pay off in his future.

I hope he gets the car he wants.

He'll love it again next April when he gets a tax refund!

My daughter had part-time jobs all through college and loved getting tax refunds. Then a few weeks ago she told me we needed to do her taxes soon. It occurred to me later that she was expecting to get money so I had to deliver the disappointing news to her that since she was in an accelerated nursing program last year and didn't have time to have a job, she can't expect a refund. Poor girl, so much to learn to become an adult.
