Remember back in November at Thanksgiving when Ron fell out of the attic and broke the calcaneus (heel) bone in his foot? He has a plate and several pins, and he was non-ambulatory for 4+ months?
He wondered then if he’d ever get back to where he was before physically, and attacked his physical therapy with a vengeance, and continued to lift weights and exercise his upper body on our modest home gym.
Cut to now. The “feels like” temps here have been well over 100. Even lower temps come with so much humidity that it feels like you’re breathing underwater.
Ron’s out there in it anyway, he’s back to working two or three days a week and most of it’s outside. And when he’s not at work he’s at home, also working outside!
We had 25 trees taken down around our property because of rot, damage etc and we didn’t want them to fall in the house, and then the property was graded and seeded, so he’s out there every day in the heat watering and tending to the tender new growth.
As part of the outside upgrade, he also re-graveled the driveway and parking area, mulched the front garden, and chopped/sawed up a bunch of the logs he had the tree guys leave behind so we’d have a good supply for our fire pit.
In the last week, in between work days, he built a roof over our back porch, and also re-seeded and spread hay on parts of the lawn that were still looking sparse.
Today he plans to paint the porch uprights he installed to hold the roof, and various areas of trim he added, so everything matches, also in this brutal heat.
Over the next several weeks he intends to jack up his shop that sits at the side of the house in preparation for the L shaped addition he plans to build out the back of the existing shop to give him more shop room.
So……what do you think? You think he’s back to where he was before his accident???
