My cousin always askes me if I want the bulbs from her Easter flowers. I always take them and plant them in my garden. This year I couldn't do that because we took our fence down and the deer love them.
I decided to take them and try planting pot and all in my fenced in veggie garden. I didn't get the bulbs until the 4th of July. She had taken them out of the soil but gave me the pot also.
I put them in our
cool basement and late October I put fresh soil in the pot and buried pot and all in the garden. I had no idea when to dig them up but decided to bring then in a few weeks ago. I'm glad I did because we had a lot of snow and I would have never been able to get to them.
They popped right out. I even saved the paper that was around them from Easter..
The photos show the progress after a few weeks in the house. My timing was off for Easter but it still is nice to see something growing with all the snow outside.
