My Mom Passed Away.

Sad to read this @PeppermintPatty. It's hard having to see a loved one succumb to dementia so, understandable that you feel comfort knowing that she is now at peace. x
Thank you Trish,
I never thought I’d feel relieved from the passing of a beloved parent. Her last couple of years were horrible. She no longer even communicated to anyone.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Your folks were our age (my wife and I) . I'll be 91 next week and my wife is 88. We met back in 1953, married a couple of years later and here we are today.
On a good note, it's wonderful that they both had these many years together.
Thanks DaveA
My dad passed at 95. They both had a fabulous life. They certainly had many wonderful years together

Sorry to hear of your loss Patty. I hope you're comforted by warm and happy memories of times spent with her and how she influenced your life.
Mothers are special!

My Mother kept a garden.
A garden of the heart;
She planted all the good things,
That gave my life it’s start.

She turned me to the sunshine,
And encouraged me to dream:
Fostering and nurturing
The seeds of self-esteem.

And when the winds and rains came,
She protected me enough;
But not too much, she knew I’d need
To stand up strong and tough.

Her constant good example,
Always taught me right from wrong;
Markers for my pathway
To last my whole life long.

I am my Mother’s garden,
I am her legacy.
And I hope today she feels the love,
Reflected back from me.
