My Mom Passed Away.

Patty, I am so sorry for your loss. I also am sorry that I was so late in commenting on your loss.
I have lost both of my parents, my mom passed in 2019 and my dad about 5 years earlier than my mom. I also lost my older sister a couple of years ago. I have my kids and my wife, thank the good Lord, but the rest of my family is now gone. It all feels a bit odd!

It all goes by way to fast...so make the best of what time you have...

Thank you Timewise,
Luckily I have many memories to draw back on. My mom was fairly spiritual so know she’ll love her new home. Now I can actually talk to her and know she’s there. Time does fly by quickly but I cherish it immensely.

Thanks seadoug,
I did looked ok after her for several years. It was bitter sweet . Some things I’d wish I could change but I can’t. Right now my mom knows all of this and will be perfectly ok with it. Now she’ll always be with me. It brings me comfort.
I too looked after my mother for 21 years after my father passed away. I'm an only child. I was with her during a very difficult 30 days as she lay dying. She passed away at 89. The sadness was still there, but there was also a sense of relief because she had been in and out of hospice for over a year. You owe it yourself to feel that sense of relief as well. 🤗

My mom died. She was 90, had full blown dementia and lived in a nursing home. She died 11 months after my dad. I’m sorry to lose her but am relieved that’s she’s no longer suffering.
Just seeing this thread, my condolences to you and your family for your loss. May she rest peacefully. Hugs.

Wow. 21 years is a very long time. Good for you..That must have been very difficult.
There’s definitely a huge belief. She lost a lot of weight and stopped communicating all together. It was very sad..
