Hi😀
I am so glad to find a forum for seniors only.

i am 68 years old. My husband of 42 years died May 18, 2013. He had brain cancer (glioblastoma). He underwent oral chemo and radiation, only lived about one year. I live along and own my house. It gets lonesome sometimes, I have adjusted well. I have two daughters. Thelma is married and had eight children, with one set of twins. My other daughter Barbara is married to her second husband and has one son and five stepsons. Both are very happy.

i live in a small town (40,000 people) in the state of Georgia.

I think this forum is just what I need.

I hope to meet all of you by posting.

Thank you Americot. I see you live in Scotland. Would love to hear about your country.

Hi Linda, a big welcome to the forum, and thanks for telling us a little about you. Sorry you lost your husband so recently it must still be very raw.

We are a very friendly bunch, a few of us live outside the US..I live near London England..and am originally from Scotland. I still work full time..:D

I'm originally from the US but married a Scot in 2000. Love it here. I lived in 4 states, two of them next door to you - East TN, and NE FL.

Hi Linda

I'm Larry from Arkansas. Around here we call 40,000 a big city. I live near a small city ( 9,000 ). Sorry about the loss of your husband. I'll be 73 next month and my wife is 75.

LOL a population of 9,000 would not be called a city here it would be a large village .. and a population of 40,000 would be called a market town

Hi Linda,

I haven't been here on the forum for terribly long, but I've enjoyed every minute of it so I'm pretty sure you will too. Lots of really nice folks to chat with, argue with (gently of course:rolleyes:) and laugh with. But you have to jump in to really get the full flavour, so don't be shy okay. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

And I'm sorry to hear that your husband is gone, but happy for you that you are adjusting to this different phase of your life. Well hang around here and we'll help you with your loneliness! Take care eh!

Welcome Linda! .. enjoy the forum. This is a good place for conversation, to keep the blues away.

You and I have a lot in common. I'm 71, lost my husband of 49 yrs. to illness in the spring of 2013 also.
I live alone in my own house too. I get by on my own and have adjusted .. it's easy living on the Texas Gulf coast.
I have three grown kids with families of their own, and they are the light of my life these days.
(also a few furry friends that keep me company - 2 dogs, 1 cat)

My entire peninsula has a population of 22,000. The main town has 10,000 and it's the biggest 'city' in the entire county of Argyll & Bute!

Welcome to the forum Linda, so nice to have you join us! My condolences for the loss of your husband. :rose:
