My new canes

I've been looking at canes. I have two, one an adjustable aluminum caneI bought forty, forty-five years ago while riding my motorcycle
and stopped at a garage sale. I carried on the back of my bike until I retired. Still use it. I have another African cane my daughter bought for me in Kenya. I broke the handle and need to have it glued back together. It is really too heavy for me. I have been looking at more stylish canes recently, something to match the hats/caps I wear.

I selected mine for utilitarian reasons. It has a nice wide handle which is more comfortable. I bought it at CVS.

Another one I have has a folding camp stool incorporated into it. Handy when we used to travel.

Thanks again, everyone for your support, and for sharing your own experiences etc. In my much younger days I went absolutely manic on various forums, and overwhelmed them with countless, often useless posts. In a short period of time, I reached a height of popularity, only to be followed by a period of intense combat. Eventually I sneaked away for a decade or more. I will always question myself in this area... and do indeed use much more caution or restraint.

I'm excited about my new cane. It hasn't even shipped yet. Maybe they make them by hand, rather than by machine?!

If I had to have a cane I'd want something really pretty or pretty cool. Might as well have it in style. If I ever need a walker I want to get it tricked out.

MarciKS, it's funny, I was thinking maybe I wanted to buy a 4-wheel walker before I had the surgery. I like to think a lot.... But yeah, that one above really fit into some of my goofier dreams!

That's odd! After reading all these comments about canes, I went looking for mine to check the tip. I can't find it. Looked all over the house. Thought it was in my office, that's where I usually park it. No cane to be found. It's a bit unsettling.

I no longer have a car. There is a possibility I left it in my son's car. When I can i will check with him. Thanks for the suggestion.

Manatee, yeah, now you got me thinking. Maybe it's time to go out and explore a bit more.
