I live in a neighborhood of mostly natural brick homes. My next door neighbor, who is a very accomplished woman in her 70's, told me she would be moving out of her house last December and would be having it completely remodeled. She is still living in an apartment and the house is being worked on. She had an absolutely beautiful brick/stone house. I have attached a link from the time she had it on the market.
I can understand the need for refurbishing the inside because she has lived there for 22 years, is now retired and is there all the time.
What I didn't expect is that she would have the entire exterior painted white. This is such a current trend, and it just doesn't fit into our neighborhood. She is a wonderful neighbor, so I will not say anything to her. I just think her house will become a "white elephant" in the neighborhood. When people ask how to get to our house, I will just say "We are the house just beyond the white house".
