Gus was an older retired Navy man who I ended up working with years ago in the shipping field.
One day another co-worker was Opera singing at the top of his lungs...like he did on most mornings. Old Gus couldn't stand this guy, and this one morning Gus and I are working side by side when the Opera singer starts belting out another number again. So Gus leans into me and says...
"Listen to that guy! That f*cking arsehole thinks he's Leonardo da Vinci!"
I didn't have the heart to tell old Gus that Leonardo was actually a painter and not a singer...but oh, man did I ever bust a gut laughing afterwards!
