My sister passed away yesterday....

COPD finally took her. We all knew her time was short, but the end came suddenly. My BIL had just emailed me late Sunday night asking for my sweet potato recipe that he wanted to make for their small Thanksgiving meal. None of us have been able to see my sister since the pandemic started due to her fragile health. So it was only going to be the four of them-her daughter and SIL live on the same property as them and help care for them.

My sister was the rock of our family.Even my mom counted on her up until she left us 29 years ago. This all feels so strange.

😟😔😔....oh I'm so sorry.. regardless of how expected something like this may be, it's going to be very hard for you all to imagine a world without her in it

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's even more distressing to have someone die during this pandemic...when my husband passed I couldn't have a wake (I was allowed 10 people for 1 hour) and I couldn't even have a Mass. I had to pick out the casket online.

I'm sure it seems unreal to you, not having been able to see her and then the sudden shock of it. My heart goes out to you and I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'm sorry for the loss of your sister. And it's a shame you didn't get to spend some time with her before she passed. This virus is a travesty for so many. I hadn't been able to spend any time with my husband of 50 years for a month before he died. Just a lot of phone calls. Those of us who have lost loved ones are in the hundreds of thousands this year..... and had those last moments stolen from us.

So sorry to hear this. It really is terrible & this is a terrible time to be in the hospital. I know because I lost my wife & my brother all in the same month. The hospitals here are shut tight & you don't get in unless you have permission, etc. I need to see a doctor regarding a couple of health issues & people are telling me to stay away from doctors. What the "hay" this country has become boggles my mind. I feel sorry for people with family in hospitals & I feel sorry for people that have had operations or procedures canceled. These days it's all COVID, COVID, COVID.

Mrs R,sorry to learn the news about your sister
She fought the good fight but now she is no longer in pain.I extend my deepest sympathies to you&your family in this time of sorrow
I will keep you in my nightly prayers Sue
