My son in law is NUTS!

Not faulting the explanation that upper bulk is due to operating heavy equipment. Upper body bulk could be some people are just built that way.

To be a good operator it takes a lot of skill, I worked with some of the best there is. A bet was made that a pack of gum set on a log couldn't be pushed off the log without moving the log. The operator took home his win. Not typically known is a bulldozer on ice can slide like a giant bobsled. Knowing how to regain control takes a LOT of skill.

These videos are typical of how little physical labor is needed to operate heavy equipment. The full range of heavy equipment work pretty much the same.

At one time I did heavy equipment repair out in the field where that equipment broke down. Once I completed whatever repair was needed I had to operate it to make sure it did what it was designed to do.

Unlike your son in law I didn't take my knowledge to open & run successful businesses. He is a person to be very proud of.

It's not nuts. Wim Hof is a huge proponent of cold therapy. He's climbed Mount Everest in shorts and hiking boots. I like dry cold and prefer it at times but taking an ice bath plunge is not for me. :giggle:

I went into the Long Island sound in April just see what a polar bear plunge would feel like. I was very skinny back then...not much fat.

That's the closest to dying I ever felt so far in my life.

To each his own. A long time ago I've read something on the Zen buddhists in Japan. Some of them took a bath in an ice water tub every morning at 4 am. Well, if someone likes it, why not. I would not do it.
