My T-Mobile 5G internet misadventures

I've been using T-Mobile 5G internet for a few months now. I've often lost the Internet connection, and had to reset the T-Mobile router/modem. The worst experience came on this past Saturday. I got ready to watch WWE Money in the Bank, coming from London, England. My TV couldn't get a wi-fi signal, and my computer's wi-fi signal was so weak that it was useless. I spent 12 hours trying to fix the problem.

I started thinking it would be better to use Ethernet cables to connect directly to the TV and computer. (I specifically chose a TV that would let me hardwire the TV to the Internet Modem.) Today I received a new Ethernet cable and connected it to the TV. Then I reset the TV to Factory settings. Now, everything works fine.

It appears T-Mobile's router produces a bad wi-fi signal!

Sorry you had to go through that, @ronk! It can be frustrating when we can't get a wi-fi signal. I've learned to use the hotspot on my cell phone when I get a temporary disruption. But I'm glad you fixed it!

My Wi-fi is lousy for streaming but it is DSL and I pay only $17.99 a month. I am cheap and don't want to change 'cause I'm set in my ways. Sometimes when Verizon throttles my data plan, I get to watch the buffering circle more than the show. But $17.99 a month! C'mon!

palides2021 thanks for your support.

Judycat, I can't argue with saving money. But I wouldn't tolerate it myself.

I have considered trying T-Mobile but the word here is that it is very spotty. It works well for some and not at all for the next door neighbor. I'm just waiting for a new system that is being installed here now. I think it will still be a few months.

Precisely the same here. T-Mobile is one of the ..if not THE least reliable provider..

Around here, Verizon offers free Internet. You start with $25 a month. If you qualify as low income, you can get a reduction of $25. That means zero.

I will likely stay with T-Mobile because the service seems to be good after I connected the computer and TV via Ethernet cable to the router.
