I've just realized that this morning while trying to get a picture on the tube, I accidently hit a wrong button on the thing and the pic would not come one, so I hit some other buttons and still don't have a pic...now mind you, this means there is
no signal between the cable box on top of tv, and the tv itself, so I"m screwed until I figure out the exact combo of wrong buttons to hit....my TV belongs to Spectrum and I am not happy about that 1!!!!!!!!!

... may be a good time to get that 12 year old kid to help get some flower pots and start growing some vegetables ? I'm still looking to start a garden, for years now, remembering when my 12 year old did start a garden in a four foot wide wading pool and we had fresh food for one to three months that summer/autumn ! It was great !

Welp, with the help of a cust serv person in NYC, we got
it up and working again....but as I said, it no longer belongs
to me !!!!!!

I am extremely glad that you found a way to get the TV back for you!

But yes, I agree that it has become more difficult to keep it from suddenly going off. And then, I dislike needing someone else from somewhere far away, to do something with it!

I've had that type of trouble with the tv, too many times, this past year, too.
Very frustrating, and even can be disturbing, when the timing is bad to lose the tv, or the timing is sometimes impossible for me to deal with it.

Sounds like what happens to me when for some stupid reason the volume button on the cable box remote changes the cable box channel from 3 to 1. I have to dig out the remote that came with the TV and manually change the channel to 3 and then box connects.

I have Spectrum and I think the people there are really nice and helpful, but I also think I probably shouldn't know them so well that I know several by name. All it seems to take is a little construction in the area or a windy day and some or all of our stations go out.

I have learned that most of the time when things have gone wrong all I have to do is point the remote at the cable box and hit "system." Wait for the dance of lights to finish. Then point the remote at the TV and hit power, and everything is copacetic.

You say your TV "Belongs" to Spectrum??? I thought spectrum was just a service "provider"...are you saying that they sell tv's???
I think it's that Spectrum owns the cable box/connection, so they are controlling the tv, and whether or not it will operate.
And when the tv doesn't work, most of the time, you need to call Spectrum, and go thru their system, to get it working. Sometimes even requires a tech visit from them, that they schedule for numerous days later (with no tv for you till then, regardless if your tv is fine in itself.)

My TV no longer belongs to me....my TV belongs to Spectrum and I am not happy about that 1!!!!!!!!!

That is what all technology companies want, they want you to feel that way because they want to control you and your money. That's why I dumped Micro$oft and their silly@ss Windows operating system in favor of Linux.
