Nails

@Muskrat, I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just don't understand those that make changes to their bodies. That is my complaint, for the most part it is done and you can't change your mind.

I remember crying for days after I found out my son got his first tatoo. It was a large gothic type cross on his back between his shoulder blades. He has since got a couple of more.

My DIL, a beauty, could be a model had some when she dated my son. She has continued to do this. It is just a fad that many young people go through and find later in life it was not the best decision.

They are adults, it is their choice but I don't approve one bit. I will say the DIL had guauged ear lobes when I first met her. She has gone and had her earlobes sewn back together but continues to get tatooes.

I am all for personal expresion but not of the permanent type. Embarrasing as it is my husband went through a stage that he wanted to get tatooes. He listened to my concerns. I worked in an industry where I could get free temporary tatoos and he was fine with that.

I also think it is just nuts, the things some people do that think it will make them more attractive. So many are left looking like a wreck when they were attractive in the first place. This is what happens when people are driven by the media about what is attractive.

Yes, there are some that truly need the help, those born with a deformity or those who have been in an accident. I believe, if they desire to get a condition corrected should go forward with treatment.
I agree. Actually most of us, women look best natural with a little makeup. No need to plump up lips and claw up our nails or plaster on loads of makeup.
All that is false. The fact is personality overrides all else very quickly. Then the plainest person can be the most beautiful.

I must say I simply dislike tattoos. I don't understand why anyone has them. I suppose one or two can enhance a man's look, but beyond that they are not a good thing.

Some people just like getting around with talons, I always wonder how they wipe themselves when they need to go to the bathroom.
In the video I posted , one of the ladies says that they get asked that question a lot, and they're offended by it, because they have no problems.... I personally find that difficult to believe..

when I was a boy working with my dad on the farm, we would be fixing something and needed a "20", he would look at me and say go get me one of those nickel nails. number 20 nails are long and use to nail together two by fours, (real ones back than) the nail cost a nickel.

You can always spot artificial nails no matter how short they are. Because they are applied on top of natural nails, the nails appear thicker. They rise above the cuticles and often have a rounded, humped look. A skilled technician can make that less noticeable but not invisible. I can always tell. ;)

Ever since I was young, I had to trim my nails in order to play the viola/violin. If I didn't, the sound wasn't as good. So it became a habit to trim them all my life. My thumb nails, however, are always longer because I didn't need to trim them for playing the instrument. The padding on the side of my thumb was sufficient to hold up the instrument and its nail did not interfere. The longer nail on my thumb also meant I could open boxes better by ripping the cellphone tape off with the nail!

Regarding painting the nails, I have opted for pinks and reds and sometimes clear colors (although I have seen beige, blue, purple, black nails and don't care for those colors).
