Name something you still have from the 70’s

Gawd, I'm ashamed to say loads of stuff. I've thought so often of getting rid but I'm too sentimental. My daughter will be tearing her out when I've dropped off the plate. :D

Briefly - (haha)

1st wedding present dinner set - 8 piece settings of everything plus coffee/tea/milk/sugar pots, set of kitchen knives, Kenwood Chefette mixer/blender.
Jewellery, craft books, silks and a zillion cotton reels, work related ref books, items from a uniform I wore, certificates job wise, Advanced Motorist badge, membership cards to various clubs, Hydes Anvil Ales poster - caricature of myself and 2 friends, newspaper cuttings of dad, receipts from flying lessons LPs/singles.
Pair of hot pants (still fit ;)), Victorian cape (antique clothes fan then), tribal fur cape from South Africa (present), single set of Mary Quant sheets (superb quality to this day even tho' I don't use them now), cuddly toys that have a special meaning.
Swiss music box/3 small cuckoo clocks, cow bell (which I'm ashamed to say I nicked o_O), Westclox Big Ben alarm clock (still works), transistor radio (still use every day) .... oh a huge box of tools when I was into DIY, c/o my dad :geek:

Incidentally, does anyone remember the days when you could go into a booth and record a record? It was the 60s rather than the 70s. Anyway, amongst the LP/singles is a single of a couple of friends and myself singing Herman's Hermits 'I'm into something good'. I still remember every word

First wedding present dinner set = This means you were wed in the '70s. Do you still have your mate? If not, since you cherish the gift maybe the memories you have and cherish as well. Just a thought.

1971 was the first one. Definitely cherish those memories Rob. We weren't really suited for marriage, too immature, but the funny thing is we ended up seeing each other for 7yrs after we split until I found my next husband. The 3 of us used to go for a drink occasionally.
The 2nd was my soul mate and I loved him to bits.
Both are now deceased.

Vinyl records, some match box cars, my Eagle Scout pin and other scouting badges and patches. My high school yearbooks, some old sports trophies, a personalized model Adirondack baseball bat, that was given to me by my high school coach. I'm sure there's more that I can't think of.

Also, I've got a children's t-shirt from the 60's. I was six and my brother was in college and gave me the college t-shirt. I still have it hanging up in my man cave. He wrote me a note too (that I still have), that says he talked to some people at the college and if I did well in school, I could go there some day also. Funny a few years later I did just that.

My US Navy foul weather jacket. I lived in this while at sea and it shows. All the stencils are faded and some of the buttons have been replaced but it is still serviceable.

A hubcap for an old Ford Cortina, I got rid of the car yonks ago, but you never know the cap may one day come in handy. 😊

I have a folding fishing chair I made in shop class in 1972 and gave to my parents
I have a long tall rectangular Tupperware container and a round green one
I still have a microwaveable pitcher from back then.
A needlepoint I made in the late 70’s for my mom. It’s fairly large.
A plate I got from my Calgary exchange student program

Jewelry - hand me downs that I never wear
Woodcarvings
Pocket knives
Some priceless Christmas ornaments
My husbands military uniform was from 1982. Close but no cigar

My Dad gave me a tambourine when I was 12 yrs old. I still have it. In fact it's in this room I'm sitting in next to my stereo. I still turn up my music and play it, too!
