Ok, I don't watch much tv, much less movies. But this evening after returning home from some music fun, turning tv channels caught the last 2/3 of the 1941 version of Jack London's, The Sea Wolf with Edward G. Robinson and Ida Lupino. Quite the psychological study of multiple characters. The director used lots of facial close-ups in dim light to emphasize subtle facial emotions and non-verbals.

The below is an image of Ida, a year before she did that movie at age 23. She had a spectacularly beautiful young woman's face at that age though with a slightly wide forehead. I would surely enjoy at close range looking into such lovely eyes. 🥰 From a London entertainment family, supposedly with an English Italian family ancestry.

As I got older.. I didn't always find conventionally attractive men.. attractive.. in fact... I like personality, or a sense of humour more.. which is why as an older adult I found both Jay Osmond who has such a lovely nature, and so kind , and Brian Dennehey, really attractive

I've never been into heavy set men, but I always found Brian Dennehey to be very attractive. Something about the way he carried himself, I think. I read once that he was considered a senior citizen sex symbol.

When I was in my late teens or early 20's, I went to the Apollo Theater for a Motown review. The Spinners subbed for The Contours who couldn't make it. As soon as the Spinners came out, I was crushing on their bass..far right in the photo. I even wrote him a letter. He wrote me back and included a personal snapshot. A few years later my (then) BFF and I saw them at The Cheetah in NYC. I got to go backstage and chat with him. My BFF was astonished when she came back and found us sitting there chatting like old friends, me being all cool about it. He was a lovely man who really appreciated his fans.

I always liked Hugh Jackman but don't know anything about him other than his performances. He and his wife Debbora-Lee of 27 years (and 2 children) just ended their marriage. It was equal and amicable. They say they're just on different journeys now. She is 13 years older than him.

Although Natalie Wood was and still is my #1 celebrity crush....

I had a thing for Ali McGraw all during the 70s.

Angela Bassett absolutely slayed me all during the 80s and 90s....because, of course she did.

And Maria Bello stole my heart most recently. She's especially brilliant at playing a woman who's absolutely determined but really struggling emotionally or because of her character's social status or because the support just isn't there....personal struggles. She conveys personal struggles so convincingly it makes you want to step in and smack everybody a good one.
