Names for plants in our gardens.

I'm one of those people, that if someone asked me if I'd like a plant telling me it's 'latin' name, I wouldn't have a clue what the plant was, but if I was asked if I'd like the same plant using it's common name, chances are I'd know about that plant.

Do you use the latin names for plants, or do you prefer the common names?

Latin names are difficult to remember. I use generic/common plant names.

Generally I use common names. Off the top of my head, the two exceptions I can think of are both house plants . . .sansevieria (snake plant) and schefflera (umbrella plant).

Names as common as the dirt they grow in is fine with me!
