Naps Without Sleeping

I am a poor sleeper and can't really even sleep well with a nap. I don't know if it's just the fact that I am older or that I don't really get a sound sleep at night, but I increasingly have the need to take a nap after lunch or mid afternoon. Wish I could sit in a chair and nod off like some folks can do. My so called naps last no more than 30 to 45 minutes.

I don't take naps, never felt good after waking from one. Sometimes I use Melatonin to help me sleep. It's found naturally in the body, but decreases with age, causing problems with sleep in some people. Source Naturals has a low dose 1 mg sublingual tablet that works well. Many times I'll just take 1/2. Lights should be out after taking the pill, and normally you'll doze off within an hour. Just a suggestion, it's available in health food/vitamin stores.

I think people who nap during the day, sleep worse at night, because they're not that tired anymore. My mother used to read in her easy chair, and nod off taking naps throughout the day...couldn't sleep worth a darn at night though. :eek:fftobed:
