It was an internal fire not an explosion. And to my knowledge nobody blames any of the astronauts who were killed. They were victims of a poor design decision.

I never heard of the astronauts being blamed, electrical fire due to faulty wiring, fueled by an oxygen rich cabin atmosphere, IIRC.

I agree. It sounded to me like mistakes in engineering. I know a few propulsion engineers at Boeing and they have showed me some of the formulas they use for thrust and speed that I could never have been qualified to do. I never knew how they arrived at the formulas they did and didn’t want to ask because it would have led to a multi hour conversation that wouldn’t have made much sense to me.
