I remember them. They were so handsome!

I had to have both euthanized because of old age problems. Adam developed an abdominal malignancy and Gus was in kidney failure. It got to the point where they weren't eating or drinking and getting weak. I didn't want them to suffer any longer than necessary. Of course the vet wanted to give them expensive treatments, but it would only prolong their misery (and mine) and the end result would eventually have been the same. Adam lived to be over 15.5 years and Gus was about 19.5 years.
