I have never ordered French toast at a cafe or restaurant.. wouldn't dream of it, they'd probably charge and arm and a lung for basically what's just an egg and a slice of read.. butttt.. I do love French toast so I make it at home at least once a week, and have it with crispy bacon...

I know it’s not CHOCOLATE……but I love French toast……usually have for a brunch……sometimes instead of sugar free syrup, I will have Nutella…..which sadly is loaded with sugar…..but tastes divine..
Here is the method used by an old guy back in the 50's,,
eggs, beaten whole, bisquick, dunno how much, but enuff to
make a coating on the bread, vanilla for flavor, DEEP FRY
until done....nothing like what is served today.......
