National Girl Scouts Day- March 12th

And the cookies are almost as old! This from the Girl Scout website:

"Girl Scout Cookies were originally home baked by girl members with moms volunteering as technical advisers. The sale of cookies to finance troop activities began as early as 1917, five years after Juliette Gordon Low started Girl Scouts in the United States." 🍪

Is it "once a Scout always a Scout" like the Marines? If it is, then I'm still a Girl Scout. It's been a long, long time since I became a Scout. And I was so proud to be in the color guard for my troop, but dang! That flag was heavy...

In Germany the scouts are called 'Pfadfinder'. I was never a member of them but in 1997 I got in touch with them and must say that I never have known before such polite, friendly and helpful young people. All thumbs up!

I’ll always remember Wednesday Addams and Pugsley selling lemonade when approached by a perky Girl Scout to buy Girl Scout cookies. They take her to task for her cookies not containing real Girl Scouts whereas their lemonade is made from real lemons…

Happy USA girl scout day...

Little aside... Back in September 2022, after I'd found the documents from Hubby's days in a Scottish Scouts Group. I found an email online and wrote to them announcing that hubby had died in April 2022 and that his time as a Scout had been an enjoyable experience.

Sadly, they never replied to my email. I just don't know why?
