National Guard Deployed To N.Y.C. Subways

I heard about this. I'm really sorry it has become that bad.

It's been over 30 years since I rode BART (bay area rapid transit) in the San Francisco bay area. I'd have no idea how it is today but I'd probably skip it.
I rode BART to work and back in the late 1970s. At that time I didn't sense even a hint of danger.

I live in Philadelphia. Recently, disguised shooters are attacking people trying to board the SEPTA bus. Nobody knows why yet.

People are gonna need to arm themselves.

That was terrible! Just awful ! I hope they catch those SOBs and put them away for the rest of their lives. I'd be very interested to know why they did it. I wonder if it was gang related and a member of a rival gang or someone who refused to join theirs was the primary target. Perhaps they knew his (her) routine and were out to get him (her) without concern for collateral damage.

@againstthegrain I doubt NYC has an additional 750officers to spare for subway duty. I leave the judging of their mayor to NYC residents since I'm not immersed in the day to day policies and operations.

@OneEyedDiva , they've got 3 out of the 4 in custody and have charged them. The 4th one is at large still.

NYPD has 30,000 uniformed officers and 10,000 other personnel, and Adams had already put an additional 1000 cops into the subways so adding more NYPD was and still is an option. Many of those additional personnel are cops and can be put back in uniforms and sent out on patrol. There is additional overtime expense, but it's possible to put a LOT of cops onto play very quickly. Adams was a law and order candidate and when chit hit the fan during his term he has failed to respond adequately and allowed the governor to get involved and make matters worse.
