National Macaroni Day - July 7th

Well, how bout that. My plans for today have been to make a macaroni salad...and I did not even know this. Who knew that macaroni had a day?

Love, love, love..have every day in the summer...add chopped carrots and croutons,etc with different salad dressings..not just mayo.

We don't eat a whole lot of pasta and I probably couldn't tell the difference anyway but no matter what the pasta shape is mama always buys the Barilla brand name saying that it stays firmer longer and tastes better.

I ain't going to argue with her about buying other brands........she does the shopping, runs the kitchen and everything she cooks tastes great.

Barilla is the brand I always buy ... and I agree with Mama.

In spite of having some of the world's best food, why did Scotland have to come up with the "Macaroni pie"? It's just not right! Even worse is serving pasta and chips (French fries) on the same plate!


I prefer 'Napolina' brand pasta. They make Lasagne sheets with egg.

I avoid pasta due to it's high carb content, but the jalapeno-black bean-green onion topping heightens my interest.
