Nationwide emergency test on October 4th

Probably as a response to the recent tragedy in Hawaii, there will be a national test, in the US, of the emergency notification systems on Oct. 4th. TV's, radios, and cell phones will all receive a message on that date.

We have local monthly test at noon on the first Wednesday of the month without fail, unless we are having severe weather.

It still prompted more than one call years ago in dispatch by people who had no idea what they were about. I wonder how many people are going to freak out when the national test goes out?
